It all feels so slow..
Hello everyone! I feel kinda down and depressed. My 5 month surgery anniversary was also on May 18th. After looking at other loses from around my date, I feel as if everything is slow on me. I am down from 307 to 241. thats not much of a loss compared to everyone else. I was wondering if I could get some pointers from what some of you are doing as a daily routine? How about what your eating habit is now?
Lynn
First Lynn, You are doing great . 66 pounds that is nothing to sneeze at .
I can only tell you that I keep my Carbs at 30. Fats at 20 and Calories at 700. I try to get in all my water . My protein is always at 85 or above . For me I think this has been the key to my loss .
I try to walk everyday . Some days it is harder . I do arm weights . For the bat wings and it helps .
Let me know what your day consist of . Maybe we can work out the kinks. But my thought is your no dif than me .. just some of our bodies want to hold on more than others .
Well if you want to chat let me know .
Always ,
Nat
I agree with irish that weightloss is nothing to joke about and your doing great. I was 304 so we started out close to one another. But height also plays a factor as so many other things. I know it's hard but try and not compare yourself or you will go nuts. I know I was for a minute and was a pimped by my scale. On it every day... I was crazy. I am not like some though and it may come and nip me in the butt later but I don't count. I don't know how many oz i eat and how much protien i eat. I know I should but I don't so don't go on my example. I am still learning how to do right by my body....
Good luck

Dear Lynn, 66 pounds is AWESOME! Don't sell yourself short on that score! I feel that way too sometimes because there are people who have lost a lot more than me, but as the others said, it depends on such a LOT of different factors that there is no "set" standard for what is normal weight loss and what isn't. I have not been exercising much at all but I DO make sure I get lots of protein and lots of water. Everyone is different but your weight loss is GREAT, just as you are!! Don't ever forget that!!!
Hi Lynn,
I feel the same way too. I was 247 and now I keep going up and down the same 4 pounds for the past month. I am between 176-179. I haven't been losing at all. I am worried about it, and I know that I am not always eating good things. I do make sure that I get in my 50 grams of protein a day. I still struggle with the fluids. I usually get 35-50 ounces of fluids a day, usually water or hot tea with no sugar. I have a bad sweet tooth, and that's killing me. I do not eat lots of sugar, or I will dump, but I can eat 5 hershey kisses in a day. I do exercise 3-5 days a week and take an indoor bicycling class. I think that this is the time where lots of people have plateus and start to lose alot slower. I can eat more than 2 months ago, but I know I eat within normal range. Usually, depending on the food, I can eat 3-6 ounces of food at a meal. Just keep working on it, and remember that this is happening to alot of us 5 monthers.

No disappointments allowed. When was the last time you lost 66 pounds in 5 months? For me it was never. I was bigger than you and I am sure that is why I am losing faster than some, also I was pretty ill too. Hang in there and remember those 66 pounds are never coming back so wish them a fond fairwell and enjoy the new you!

120 pounds gone forever!
I was going slow also. Then I started walking more on my treadmill. I am now walking 6 to 7 miles a day 5 days a week. I also use my pilates 3 days a week. I am now down to 155.2 and I started walking at 2 miles. It has really helped me to get over that hump or so to speak. I now am losing on average 4lbs a week (7days) Also by walking it has really helped during that time of the month. I didn't hold water like I normaly do. Just by walking and drinking water this has really helped me over my stand still periods. Hope this helps you...
Hi Lynn,
My surgery was also on May 18th 2004. I am at the same weight loss as yourself. I don't get the excerise as I should. But I did do something for myself. I joined an club and have started doing water arobics. You see all sizes in there and you do the best you can. I have some other disabilites going on so the water really helps me to not hurt so bad. I hate to excerise anyway, so this is the best for me. Don't let the scale get you down. It's only numbers, right? Start looking at where you have come and be proud.
