Compared to everyone else, how r u doing?
This post is mainly for the lightweights who had this surgery in May. I weighed in at 248 day of surgery. I am now at 175...I am 5'6 or 7 and would like to lose an additional 45 lbs. Key word here...LIKE. Now if I don't get down under 140 I'll still be a happy camper My five month ann is coming up on the 17th, so in that respect I am thrilled with my weightloss. But gee it is going off awfully slow now. Snails pace. No I am not excersizing ("been sick with flu) and no I am not taking in enough calories, nor enough water...I take in probably 5-600 calories a day TOPS, and drink maybe 24oz of water That being said how is all other lightweights doinng with there weightloss/water/calerie intake doing. Give me something to compare to please. Yes, I no we shouldnt measure ourselves to one another but let's admit IT IS HARD NOT TO, plus hearing what others are doing can motivate us to get on track!
Thanks,
Brenda

Hi I had surgery 5/ 4. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one losing slow. The last 2 months I've only lost 6lbs per month. I haven't been exercising like I should & my water intake hasn't been the best either so I guess I know why it's not coming off so fast. I'm down to 165lbs & would like to lose 35lbs more. My hair is falling out like crazy. I'm glad I started with really thick hair.

248/175/???
HI Brenda,
I too was/am considedered a "light weight'... 6' and started at 268.. I am now 182 and gone from a size 22 to a 12.
The "numbers" on the scale have slowed down dramatically, but I still notice inches falling off, like I'm the incredible shrinking woman. More importantly, I have been off all of my diabetic meds since the week after surgery and I feel healthier than I have in years.
Congratulation on your success and wish you the best as you continue.
Regards,
Pam

I'm 5"2" and 55 years old. On May 17 I had banded gastric bypass. I weighed 248 making me a light weight. At my PCP's today, I weighed 157. The surgeon will accept 150 (which is clearly in reach) but would prefer 135. I don't count calories, am strict about not drinking 15 minutes before, during and 60 minutes after a meal. I'm starting to eat a wide variety of foods, but can't tolerate even the sugar in raw carrots.
I swim 60 laps (3/4s of a mile) about 4-5 times a week and do a lot of other exercise also. I'm finding it scarey to weigh less then I did at 15.
How are others handling that?
