I blew it. HELP
Has anyone here realized that you can actually eat too much? Yesterday, I was traveling and in airports for most of the day and just ate too much. When I got to my hotel room, I wrote down all I had consumed in the day and it totaled over 1700 calories. I do go to curves whenever I travel and did get to a curves once I reached my destination, which burned up about 200 of those calories. But I was just amazed at how much I can eat. So I guess today will be a new one and I need to get back to the program. Even though this surgery makes it easier, it is still a tool that needs to be used wisely. But it did scare me at how much I could take in. Has this happened to anyone else? Oh I am doing great ****il yesterday)Down 62lbs and in a loose size 14. I am only 38 pounds away from goal at 133.
Yep...I can "blow it" too, if I don'****ch what I'm doing. You're doing great to identify the problem and deal with it early. Also, if you had RNY then you are also malabsorbing about 1/4 of those calories.
I know exactly the panic you must have experienced when you saw just what the damage was. I had a day like that a couple of weeks ago and I came back and reported to the board here. The people here are so great-just tell you to dust yourself off and get back on track.
You ARE doing great-just 38 lbs from goal is INCREDIBLE!!! I think that in many ways it's a good thing to be able to take in semi-normal amounts of food the closer we get to goal. Otherwise, all those people who think we will starve to death ( ) might be right.
Prepare yourself for the next time you travel-look at the list of what you ate yesterday and come up with a plan on how to cut it back to something that fits within your doctor's rules. It's so hard when you have to deal with 9 million other details of travel, but ultimately it will save your mental health to have this one taken care of.

I realize this fact now. I went on a cruise 2wks ago and had gained two lbs when I got back. I was devastated. It also made me rededicate myself to getting the weight off. You have done great. I have been told that since we are lightweights the last 20lbs or so will go slow. I have lost 71lbs and I am at 150 from 221. I have 25-29lbs to go until I am at goal. Keep your eye on the prize. You will be at goal before you know it.
Hi..I just got back from a business trip and I know exactly what you are saying. It's so easy to eat more when you are faced with airport and hotel food. Also, I've noticed over the past few weeks that I can really eat more than I could at first. I think my honeymoon is over and the work has really begun!
Hang in there and congrats for your honesty and self awareness!
