Thinning Body vs. Thinning Hair
Well for the last two weeks I have been afraid to even brush my hair. And granted this is a small price to pay to be thin and healthy, but I have always had thick hair and I do not know how to work with thin hair. Is it better to cut it short? Will this help? I currently wear my hair a little past my shoulders with bangs. This morning I flat ironed it and there is more hair on the bathroom floor than on my head......
Any suggestions would be welcomed!
Thanks,
Christine
Christine-
Sorry to hear about your loss. (((hug))) It's so hard to know just what to do for thinning hair-mine looks better shorter, in my opinion, but it really depends on your personal preference. If you can, reward yourself for your great weight loss by going to a nice salon and getting a professional to make some suggestions. They will certainly include the latest pricey collection of hair care products, but there are some cool things that can help make hair SEEM fuller.
Hugs,
Susan
Christine,
I can totally relate!! I've always had really thin hair though to begin with... It's that really fine baby blonde hair... and now, there is way less of it!!
I too, am afraid to brush my hair and I know that there is way more on the brush, the floor, and my top, than on my head. I have been pondering the same thing wondering if I should cut it or just keep wearing it up, which is what I've been doing, so that I can sort of do that "comb over" and cover up the balding spots... that seems to work best. I'm afraid to cut my hair as it takes forever for it to grow. Perhaps we should think about a wig... (trust me, I've thought about it... )
If you do decide to cut it... be sure to post a pix...
I don't think taking biotin is helping... and I've tried different "re growth" shampoos and spent a lot of money on different products, but don't think it's getting me anywhere except poorer.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Hugs,
Loree
Thanks Loree, I have heard that we won't go bald from this, but at this rate I don't know....... I guess it is just a small price to pay to be healthy. I know that eventually it will grow back but maybe if it was shorter this process would take less time. I don't know I am still pondering on the decision to cut. Maybe I will get some cute highlights when I get it cut. We will see. Talk to you soon! I will let you know when I post a new pic.
Thanks,
Christine
Christine...
JUST THIS MORNING.. i thought to myself.. OH NO.. it is starting! Although... after I looked at my brush i would say that it has been happening for a while.
I have been taking Biotin every day and I also use a shampoo and conditioner called Power Plus. I started the day I came home from surgery. It is a shampoo for folks going through kemo.
It seems to help. I am 4 months post op.. and I would say it started about 2 weeks ago.
My hair is short.. and has been. There are many more styles and it seems as though I can keep my head covered.
Hope this helps!!!
Well... I now am right there with ya .. I had .. very thick hair ..now it wants to be as flat and straight as it can .
It will pass for all of us.. I just keep uping my protein and hope for the best ..
One thing I will not do is cut it off ..
It will have to fall completely out and I just go bald .. LOL
Take care,
Nat
