Well I am very happy with my loss so far. I had my open RNY on May 4 & I started out at 265. I just went to the Doctor this afternoon and they weighed me at 188. SO a total of 77lbs. My scale read 2lbs higher then that so I will take the doctors scale number..lol I was wearing a 22/24 when I started this journey and now I am in a size 14. Tops I was wearing a 22/24 or a 26/28 (i liked them big) and now I am an XL in misses. I am totally amazed! Never in my wildest dreams did I think things would go so quickly. I too have issues with getting in enough calories and I think that contributes to my weight loss slowing down. I set a lot of small goals like each 25lbs mark and also each new number catagory I enter. My next big one is my 100lb mark. I want to lose a total of 135lbs which I pray I won't have a problem reaching. I have been lazy with exercise. I need to get my behind moving. I think I am going to join Curves. I am addicted to my scale but I don't think I can ever get over that problem. I am ok with it. I have huge problems with constipation....hopefully I will conquer that one too soon. Well I guess that is enough about me. I still can't figure out how to get my picture on my messages!! I look forward to reading all of everyone elses updates.
Julie

Here's my update:
I am down over 100 pounds... 106 or so. I am reluctant to count it as official because it's not on my doctors scale and I am paranoid.
From years of experience I *know* scales at doctors offices LIE! I go back in a few weeks for my 6 month check up if things track with the scale at the gym I will weigh in once month and maybe believe it too!
I am in 2xl shirts now and they are loose. My waist is down 12 inches. I can shop in a "regular" store. I am working out regularly.
Life is good.
Hiya Nat-
I for one want the pic emailed to me.
As for how I'm doing, well, I post how I'm USUALLY doing as today was a rotten day for me.
I'm down from 257 the beginning of May, 245 surgery date, to 187.5 on the ever-pimped home scale. I'm do 65 minutes of cardio nearly every single day, which adds up to one very disgusting dripping-wet-with-sweat happy shrinking babe. I do weight training three days a week, which I'm starting to enjoy more and more.
I went to Walmart and bought some new jeans because the "skinny jeans" from way back when were getting voluminously baggy and they were 18s. So I went in, tried on some 16s, which fit kinda loosely. So I thought I'd just see if I could zip the 14s and still breathe. And lo and behold, they not only zipped, but they fit just fine. Now, to be honest, my midsection is currently as pliable as a garbage bag full of warm jello, so it's not like my waist is actually that size. Still, I can't believe it. I bought some exercise clothes that were size L!!! The tops still tend to be XL with some L's but they are in the Misses section, not the Big Mama's.
The big difference, with the aforementioned exception of today, is that I feel so darned good all the time! I just feel happier, more confident, have more bounce (and less bounce, if ya know what I mean) in my step, and I am always smiling.
So glad to hear how everyone else is doing too!
Hugs,
Susan
I knew it .. another Jello Belly ! Like me .. what is up with that .. Mine is more like Butterscotch Pudding .. all poured in the wrong places !
I love jeans... I missed how they made me feel when I wore them . I went out last weekend .. wore some really hip looking ones with the big belt .. and felt like a kid again ..
You are doing so good .. Keep it up and I know you are smiling cuz I can feel it all the way here in Virginina !
See yass ,
Nat
And email me your email address and I will send you the pic .
Hey Nat, I feel wonderful. I am down 70 pounds. My next goal will be 100. I am working on it. I started at a tight size 24 and now I am an 18. I have not been this size since about 10 years ago. I even fit into a size 16 jeans but they have stretch in them so they must run big. But I am happy about it anyway. I try not to pimp my scale since that definitely drives me crazy. I try to weigh every Monday morning.
Well I am glad everyone else is doing great.
Best wishes to all!
Christine
Good for you on not pimping your scales ! It is hard but it makes Monday a lot brighter huh...
I am so pleased to hear of everyone's successes . Like I said .. I love jeans .. and boy don't they feel great ..
You are going to hit the hundred ... mark .. and we can all shout your name ..
Take care,
Nat
Hi Natalie,
Congratulations Natalie, you're doing great! It's so wonderful to read about all of the successes that we are experiencing! I started at 334 on 5/28/04 date of surgery. I'm down now to 266 and have more energy than I know what to do with! I feel so great and haven't been in my size 22 jeans in almost 5 years. I'm down from 28+ and loving life.
I'm happy to say that I can almost get enough protein in my diet without having to supplement it with protein drinks. I just had my major bloodwork panels on vitamins, iron and other areas come back totally excellent. I'm off all meds for High Blood Pressure plus off diabetes medication, including insulin! Unbelievable!!!!
Am I excited about what wonderful changes this surgery has brought to my life??? YOU BET I AM! This was the best decision I've made in a very long time - to get myself healthy - all good things just seem to flow from that!
God bless to everyone!
Cheers,
Mary
