Hi everyone. I am down about 80 lbs. and have been holding at this same weight for about 6 weeks now. Does anyone else have this problem also?

Doesn't that frustrate the bejesus out of you??? It's so incredibly hard to wait for that plateau to end. It's like, I try to get all zen about it-accept that there are times my body will adjust by staying at one weight-and I can be zen-for all of 25 minutes. Irritating!!!! It's not like I'm worried that this is it; I know from reading a bazillion posts before me that as long as I work my program and use my tool and blah blah blah, the weight will eventually come off. I just want it NOW. That said, I'm feeling great and my plateau just broke yesterday. I hope yours passes soon too, hon! Hugs, Susan

I'm right here with ya sister!! I know I am doing everything that I should be to no avail. I have heard it said by many other of our fellow "losers" that you body just needs time to catch up. I know for me it is reassuring that I measured my major areas pre-op, I measure them periodically and enter the results in my WLS journal. I was so stoked that even though my weight has been slow going recently, I have only lost 10# in the last month but lost a total of 15 inches. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. Rest assured, if you are doing all the things your doc says then your weight will start dropping again. Good Luck and Happy losing! -Krystal

Lisa .. Hang in there my friend .. It will start again . I too had the same problem . I did up my protein and water .. and then one day last week BAM it started to melt again . It is frustrating but our bodies just need to rethink its strategy.. as we are really shocking it .. but have faith that it will start again .. Do not be discouraged . I was told to measure my inches and I am still loosing inches everyday . Keep us posted .. and believe me when the scale moves again you will be elated .. at least I know I was .. I even cried .. Good luck . Nat

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! I stalled but was losing inches. So I wasn't on a true plateau. Then all of a sudden I lost like 9 pounds in like a week and a half. it's so odd. Right now It is stalling again. I haven't lost since the 16th I think. But that span of going 4 weeks with out losing drove me NUTTY! I think losing inches is the only thing that kept me sane! So keep an eye on those inches it will help mentally. least it did for me. Tomorrow will be 5 months for me and i get to measure again. I pray there is some loss but I don't think it is. You hang in there and know that this is going to be a redundant cycle because our bodies need to take a break and play catch up! you take care! lisa c

Yep me too. I have been wavering around the last 5lbs... up and down and up and down for about 3 weeks. If I never lose another pound I'll be satisfied, though I know that isn't the case.

I was stalled a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time that has happened. I've read about so many other stalling. It was just as frustrating as they said. This seemed to help. I upped the water and protein in a day. And I took a reduced my exercise until the blasted scale moved again. I went down to working out 2 or 3 times a week. Once that happened I started exercising again 3 -4 times a week.

How could you STAND to reduce your exercise? It's the best part of my day, and I don't think I would be able to emotionally handle skipping it. Didn't you just about come out of your skin on your off days?

Actually it was more difficult than I thought it would be. By the end of the first day off I was pretty antzee (sp?). It seemed even longer the second day. But I did feel stronger after a couple of days. The third day it was getting too easy so day four I was back working out. On the days off it's not like I was in a coma in front of the tv - I still walked at least a mile or more. I just wasn't doing any "exercise". My four 1 hour+ plus workouts a week seem to be doing just fine. The trainers at my gym stress the importance of off days in order to regenerate muscle. It seems pretty counter intuitive - but I can't knock the success.

FOR THE LAST 6 WEEKS!!! AGHHHHHH!! I have not lost anything! I am upping my water and protein and exercize this week!! I will post next week about what happens! My daughter had the surgery November, 2003. I just saw her for the first time this weekend and she is gorgouse!! She is down to a size 4!! Awesome, she is my inspiration. If she can do it...I can do it. Jeannie
