OT-Surgery Friday

Well, some of you may know that I had found a breast lump last week. Went to the doc last Tuesday, he found a second one as well. Sent me to the hospital to have an ultrasound and mammogram, both came back negative. However, since the doc can feel the lumps, and they are fairly large, he sent me to see a surgeon yesterday. Well, the surgeon does not feel that it is scar tissue from my breast reduction in 2000, and does not feel comfortable just doing a needle biopsy since the lumps are not showing up on the mammogram. Therefore, I am scheduled for surgery this Friday, they will be removing the 2 lumps and sending them for biopsy. I should have the rusults next Tuesday or Wednesday. I was told that there is a 20% chance it could be cancer, and I am in the 10% that has to have the biopsy done as a surgical procedure rather than a less invasive procedure. Anyway, I'm only 28, no family history of breast cancer, but they said that 80% of breast cancer patients have no family history. Thanks for listening. Andrea, You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this. I'm crossing my fingers that those lumps are benign. I know it's very scary and I'm so sorry you have to go through all this. Cheryl 316/249/150ish

Hey Andrea, I will be praying for you on Friday!!!!! I hope your surgery will go fine and that you are in the 80% chance that it is not cancer. That sucks that you can't just have a biopsy. I feel for you. Good Luck and keep the faith that everything will be all right. God Bless you!!!!!!! (((((HUGS))))) Christine -65

Shoot Andrea, if I were you I'd ask for a little maintenance lift while they're at it... since you have to go through the stress of it anyway, LOL. Sorry hun, just trying to make you laugh. If they have to do surgery anyway why don't they just go ahead and remove the lumps?
