What & How Much is everyone eating at this point?
I've been happy with the success that I've had thus far, but I'm concerned about what and how much I'm able to eat. I'm finally at the 60 lbs down mark, but thought that it would be further as my weight is really hanging on, but the change is in the inches and I can tell in my clothes.
I'm able to eat just about anything now. And finally now even chicken. I couldn't do it for 3 months and I really missed it. I keep a tight restriction on carbs and stay completely away from sugar, breads, pasta, etc. However, I do not worry about the fat content because my Dr. said that with the "adjustments" of my system, it really cannot be absorbed. I concentrate on meats and fresh cooked veggies. I also eat about 1 oz of nuts, mostly raw or roasted with little salt for additional protein. I can eat about half of a grilled chicken breast and 1/2 cup of steamed broccoli and mushrooms, for example. Is this amount too much for 3+ months out?
I drink my Unjury protein shake in the morning and it doesn't take long to be able to consume the entire 8 oz. Is this a bad thing?
Thanks for your response!
Cheers,
Mary

Mary, if it's a bad thing, then I'm in trouble. You and I are doing about the same amounts of food each day. I eat almost anything but do stay away from bread and pasta. We're also losing weight at about the same rate. If it's any comfort to you, my surgeon is pleased with my progress. I bet yours is pleased with you too.
Gosh no Mary .. you sound right on the money . I can eat about half a chicken breast - which is right at 2 or 3 ounces . Then I can go on to eat any veggies if I have them .
Nuts -- I love them . I eat about 12 Almonds through out the day . And I too stay far away from sugar, bread and any white carbs .
I have been looking at my fat contents but did not know about the absorbstion as my Nurse P has up watch that too . We are to get no more than 3 grms of Fat at any one sitting . But sometimes that is hard especially when you want to watch the carb count too . I find it hard to eat a lot at all but always manage to get in my protein .
I always weigh my portions of meat before hand - then when I am done I reweigh what is left . That way I know for sure how much I took in .
My problem is finding stuff to eat at work . I normally do the Low Carb soups that Walmart has - and they are great . Easy to go down .
Good luck to you and keep up the Great Work .

Mary -
I am also right about where you are. But it's funny some meals it seems I eat a ton and other I can hardle get down the 4 tbsp I was at right after surgery.
I have not really gotten back to carbs too much. Except for mini pretzels but I limit myself to 10 *at most* a day. Most days I don't have any.
I can drink SO much faster now too. I can actually drink a swig in stead of a sip. 8 oz is more or less nothing now. It sure makes getting in the water easier. But it's not like I can chug anything! LOL
