What are you all doing about .....

Well I am almost 80 pounds gone forever. But ... I am having such a time with my arms . I have lost 4 inches in them , but they still look flabby. It is not hanging skin. I am hoping .. and big hope hear that - with more weight loss they will go back to normal . What are you all doing to exersise your arms ? I am doing everything .. I would also like to hear how everyone is doing . Has this been a journey or what . I am still doing great . My iron was low - but am taking iron suppliments. The weight is coming off little by little .. and thats ok by me . I still cannot tolerate beef . Bummer.. but ya know Fish is pretty cool too as well as Crabmeat - High in protein too . hi nat; glad to hear your doing good. for me, i go to Curves everyday but sunday. They have a host of machines that work your arms and legs/hips. as for diet, i can pretty much tolerate anything. i had a small peice of steak last weekend. OH SO GOOD. My favorite snack is vanilla wafers, and my doctor had some sugar-free cream savors in his office. They are so good too. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE IN FLORIDA AND GEOGIA. Well since I am not the best exerciser, I really can't help too much. I do mostly walking. I have done some resistance training on my arms, and alot of water aerobics. My arms are big too, and are saggy. I just got back from Louisville Dr appt yesterday, and I have lost 68lbs total. I finally made it to my 230lb goal . Now 198lbs here I come! Hi Natalie, I look at my arms a lot. I think it's 'cause they're up by my head...lol. So I work them pretty hard. Just like Jennifer, I also go to Curves. I usually go back and do the bicep/tricep curls more than once. I've been thinking I'm going to start up my at-home tricep exercises because I'm not happy with the tricep area...I think I could work it harder. Generally, for me the arms have been the easiest part of my body to make a change to in terms of the muscles. Fitness Magazine always has good exercise suggestions too if you're looking for a good resource. Marcia

I feel your pain. As for exercise, I have been using an eliptical machine and some weight training but was not happy with my triceps. As a therapist, I may have a little more info on the triceps than most. The triceps have 3 heads so it is important to target all three areas. One way to do this is to place the arm in different positions as it relates to the body and then extend/straighten the elbow against resistance. However, I recently started swimming again (free-syle) and this seems to have been the MOST effective at getting at that pesky area. Goodluck! Deb -73# (May 4,2004 DS Surgery)
