Dental Issues Anyone?

I was wonder if anyone else has had a problem with sensitive teeth since surgery? I now have one tooth that is very sensitive to both hot and cold. I went to the dentist this morning and it looks like my gum has receded since June - my last checkup. He thinks that's what the problem is. Some Sensodyne tooth paste was the recommendation. Anyone else with this type of problem? Also, the best news is being comfortable in both the waiting room chair and the dentist chair. It was great not being butt scrunched in and out with my thighs hurting from the chair arms. And in the dentist chair felt like I fit much better - actually kind of comfortable. Not that I WANT to go to the dentist ever, but a couple of small things made it better.

Hi John, Yes,I have problems with sensitive teeth. I always have, but its seems to have gotten worse since surgery. My next check up is in Nov. I will see what they say. I have also noticed that I seem to be clinching my teeth during the night. I have very nice teeth(even if I say so myself!) lol. I don't want to lose them. Do you clinch at night? I know they have like a retainer type of thing that I could wear at night to protect my teeth. I need to ask the Dentist about also. I hope the Sensodyne toothpaste works for you. I might be trying it soon. ~Jeanne -75 lbs

Yep, I used to clinch my teeth that I wore a bite guard (retainer like thing). But I haven't worn it in years because of my snoring. I found out it was actually sleep apneia but by then I had lost it and never replaced it. I assume I still do - because the last checkup (before this visit) I was asked about it. I might go back to wearing something. My wife wears one now - so we will be a matched set. lol I hope the Sensodyne works too! I was told Colgate makes something like it but the dentist said he only recomended the Sensodyne.

John, I haven't had any problems with my teeth being sensitive. I sure hope the sensodyne helps you. I go to the dentist next week. It'll be interesting to see how I fit in that chair. Cheryl

I had problems with sensitive teeth before the surgery. By the time I was done with a tube of Sensodyne, my teeth were back to normal. My teeth seem fine now since surgery. I have a cleaning next month so I will know more at that time. Hope your teeth stop hurting. Christine -57
