Bread question...
I was just wondering how many of you have tried bread or any bread product *especially pasta* and how you handled it.
I had it at my 5 week mark but didn't do too well with it. Now that I'm 3 months out I'm wanting to try again. I've had such a craving for buttered toast. I've actually had a waffle *with real syrup* I know... bad me! and I handled it pretty well... but I'm afraid to try other bread stuff.
I eat peanut butter on toast most mornings for breakfast, and I have either turkey, ham or tuna on bread for lunch. I've not had any problems with bread whatsoever, but pasta still sits really hard after 2 bites. Also, whenever I have any bread, it's always just one slice of wheat, and I take the crust off.

Hey Cassie ..
I do not do bread or pasta .. I have this block up .. When I was diabetic I stopped eating bread .. and pasta .. And every time I look at it .. I think of how bad it made me feel . I just do not do it .
I did try some pasta - mac and cheese- Lean Cusine at 3 weeks and sat like a brick ..
I just do not miss it ..
Good Luck to you ..

I haven't been able to handle bread yet. Crackers are good, and I'm OK with pasta in SMALL amounts (like 3 bites of spaghetti or macaroni). But whenever I eat bread, I feel like there is a brick sitting at the bottom of my esophagus trying to get into my stomach. I miss toast terribly, too, but the discomfort isn't worth it.
I just tried a wheat pasta from yoders, a small amish store. they make all there stuff. i added hamburger and sauce to it and it was so yummy. the pasta just kinda disolved in my mouth. and it did really well in my tummy. granted i did eat more hambuger for protein purposes but the noodles were great. i'm going to try mac and cheese with them one day this week.
Hi Cassie,
I don't do well with bread. I just started having peanut butter on toast in the morning. I toast it really well. I think because it isn't as doughy and is easier to digest. I can do crackers and melba toast. I eat pasta if it is in soup. It usually is cooked really well and it goes down easier. I usually do tuna or chicken salad on melba toast.
Hope this helps!!!!

I can do bread, but when I eat it, I don't have room for much else. At dinner Fri night, my sweetie ordered a hot lobster dip and it was served with small hunks of bread. I ate part of one hunk with some dip and felt guilty, so I quit. I seem to digest it ok, but am trying to concentrate on protein. I'm still afraid of pasta... maybe I'll try it again sometime.
Bread is a tough one for me. Unless it's a hard crispy bread I don't do well - feel bloated and full almost with the first bite. Toast is ok but it's not like I have a toaster at work with me.
I will add a very little pasta or even rice (like a teaspoon or two). That's OK.
The waffle sounds awesome!
