FRUSTRATED!!!!
Hi Melissa babes! Girl, thanks for the encouragement! I dont feel like i'm doing so good. I've been stuck here for what seems like a mini eternity. I know I have to get the scale away or i'll go bonkers. I've slacked on the bike riding for the last couple of days. I dont know if that will help or hurt. I have no idea what the right move is. Thanks for being a good pal! Luv ya!

Melanie,
I agree with what everyone has said on this posting... and I just want to add a little more tidbits of wisdom...
With the exercising thing... You HAVE to take a break in there... Exercising everyday is NOT good for you. Your muscles have to take a BREAK and that is when the fat burns. You should also switch off on what activities you do. You see, your body gets used to what you are doing and it stops burning fat... so you have to fool it into thinking that it is doing something different by actually doing something different. So, one day ride the bike, the next do the treadmill and the next do the eliptical trainer... the main thing is variety... you need it mentally and your body needs it physically. I learned all this from my personal trainer. If you can... it's a GREAT idea to get one at your gym (I know it's a financial struggle, but what I have learned is amazing!!) ~~ So, just be patient... realize that you are losing... and remember that muscle weighs more than fat... so don't go by the scale all the time, you have to go by the tape measure and the way your clothes are fitting...
I had been down about my weight loss too... and I HAD to stop comparing myself to others... and the way they were losing... I even stayed off this website for a while as all it did was depress me that I wasn't losing as fast as this person or that person... and it was making me CRAZY!! We are ALL DIFFERENT!! We all started at different weights and body types and we are all going to lose different!! I am trying very hard to remember that every day!!
Keep the water going in... keep the food going in. If you don't eat, your body thinks it is starving and it will start storing food to use later... and then you are NOT helping yourself at all!!
And lastly, remember that YOU are unique... YOU are losing what you are supposed to be losing and at the rate that is right for your body!! The main thing to remember... is your health!! You are doing great!!!!
Remember... to give yourself a pat on the back and a hug every once in a while!! You are doing great!! I'd KILL to be stuck at 208 ~~ I'm still trying to get below 300 (and I have a LONG way to go to get to 300!!! See, it's all relative!!!!
So, smile...
hugs,

Hi Melanie,
In case you're counting: me too. I got stuck at 206 and thought for sure I was the only person in the world that WLS wouldn't work for. But after a couple of weeks it started coming off again. All the advice you've gotten is good: definitely ease off the exercise a bit, or at least vary it. Take your measurements -- or at least keep on smaller-size clothes and see how much better they are fitting. I can't stay off the scale every day either ... but I have noticed that sometimes it goes down a bit after I've had breakfast (go figure).
Keep your chin up -- you'll get there!

Hi Donna. I'm glad your plateau ended for you in a couple of weeks. Mine has been going on for atleast 3, probably more like 4 weeks. Its making me nuts! I didnt take measurements and I wish I had. I dont quite understand how you can lose inches and not pounds. That idea escapes me. Thanks for the encouragement, I need it! LOL God bless!

Melanie -
I read all your replys a couple things popped out at me.
Following your doctors orders is exactly what to do. 600 cals seems a tad low (but hey I'm not a doctor! ). But, it does seem to give credence to the whole 'starvation mode' idea.
Given your calorie intake taking a break on the exercise every few days is essential. Let your muscles recoup and get stronger. Also, do you only do 1 type of exercise? It sounded like you were only riding a bike in your posts. Mix up you exercise bike one day, walk one day, etc. Also, don't forget stairs - they are your friend. Even walking a couple of flights a few times a day is great way to get some additional exercise in.
One last thing, way to go on the protein! That's awesome. Do you ever have a protein drink right after exercise? That's when your muscles are screaming for it. Just another idea.
Good luck to you and again thanks for all your responses to everyone.
