Where are you now ?
Ok gang . Most of us here are approaching the 8 or 9 week mark .
Where are you now in your journey ? What are you eating ..
How do you feel ?
For me .. I get about 500 cals a day .. I try to eat but still do not have any hunger . I do get my water in and always do at least 60 grams of Protein or more .
I guess my favorite thing to eat now is snow crab legs and shrimp . Very easy on my pouch . I also love boiled peanuts .
I have lost now in 8 weeks 58 pounds and really feel great . I have had 2 colds now . Not sure if related or not to the surgery . But now I have a terrible chest cold and doctoring it up .
Well - I hope to hear from you and so glad to share this RE-birth Month with you .

Well, I can eat almost anything, but I prefer seafood and seedless grapes. That's what I crave these days. I'm getting in around 1000 cal a day and I do get hungry right before mealtimes. I drink my water and get in my protein. I was exercising until my hip started hurting about a week ago. Now, I limit myself to stretches every day while I'm waiting to see what this hip pain is gonna do. It hurts to walk.
So far, I have lost somewhere between 44 and 48 pounds. The scales are fluctuating.
Salad Salad Salad.... and protein drinks. I usually eat lunch and forget to eat dinner.. lol... so I know that I'm not getting many cals. I'm lacking in the water department but I'm trying. I'm 11 weeks out and I'm down 60 *I think* That was according to my mom's scales which aren't always right. I've got a check up Monday so I'll know for sure. I'm addicted to pistasios *not sure of spelling* I was in physical therapy until last week so I haven't been able to get an exercise routine going yet but I'm planning on starting it Monday. I'm going out of town this weekend so there's no point in starting it now. I feel great and I'm down 3 pants sizes!! woo-hoo!! I'm back to the size I was when I graduated High School 5 years ago. I'll be so glad when I can shop at a regular store.... I've already bought a few items that I should be able to wear in another 30 lbs or so.
Hi!!!
I am able to eat most anything I try. Chicken or pork chops are still hard to get down yet. I have to wait 5-10 minutes after eating the chicken or pork chops before I can get anything else down.
I have lost 36 lbs so far and am exercising at the YMCA 3-4 days each week. 25 min cardio and 25 min on weight machines. I had started out wearing size 4X and now I am down to a 2X.

I am 8 weeks, almost 9 weeks post op. I am still scared to try some foods like chicken and eggs. I am very nauseated still and having a hard time some days getting anything in. I am getting in about 48oz of water a day and still working on it. I am trying my best to get in as much protein as I can. With all the nausea I have, it's very difficult. I have talked to my surgeon and he didn't seem concerned. I am down 55 lbs and doing pretty well. I am exercising when the nausea is better and I feel good.
Glad to see everyone is doing so great!

Hi Natalie,
I'm in my 10th week, and I feel great. I really need to work on my protein. I can eat just about anything,I like Chicken and salads and steak. Eat alot of Tuna also. I try to get my water in everyday,I'm so busy at work running around doing vitals on patients in the short stay unit, time goes by so fast, before I realize it a hour as gone by and my water is sitting in the kitchen area where I work and I hurry over a grab a drink and back to work I go. I've noticed more of my hair falling out this past week..anyone else? It's kinda scary.
I've lost 67 lbs so far and I was so excited yesterday. I thought I would just for the heck of it try on a size x-lg set of scrubs at work. I was surprised that the top fit,and thought no way will the pants fit,I won't be able to get them up over my butt...but I was shocked!! THey fit and they were comfortable. I went from a size 3x to x-lg in 10 weeks!! (In scrubs anyway I have'nt tried on reg clothes yet) but still its so exciting.. God is so GOOD..
THank You for letting me share..
Jeanne
I had my surgery on May 27th. I went from size 24 to 18 and some 16s, 271lbs. to 207. I have alot of trouble eating meat so my protiens are down but I am trying non meat protien to see if that helps. Protien shakes have gotten boring, not alot of choices of flavors. I am happy and now healthy, and getting more energy all the time.
I am now 10 weeks out, and was eating most anything, but these past 2 weeks, I've had trouble eating chicken. I tried it twice, and both times got very sick,(vomiting), so I am giving up chicken for a few weeks. I was told by my doctor no steaks until after my next appointment (maybe at 6 months he'll let me try steak), but I do great with all ground beef (chili, meatloaf, hamburger), and love tuna and lately love to munch on sunflower seeds. I usually get in 35-46 grams of protein and I am at 500-750 calories a day. I am still not getting in enough fluids, but I try. I am doing water aerobics 3 times a week, and usually walk a mile at least twice a week. I went from a 22 size to a size 16. Down 50 pounds, (the last time I check, which was last week).
I have so far not gotten any colds so that's good.

Hey there girlie!! I had my surgery on May 24th. I have lost 54lbs as of today. I am struggling to get my calories in. I did manage to get over 200 in today. I drink water, and my protein drinks. Have been eating cottage cheese, nuts, and trying meats to push up my calories. I have had more energy, this last week, and had a blast giving away big clothes and entering my new size. This will be fun, cuz I have clothes that go all the way down to a size 14. I was in a 26-28, now I am a 22-24. You are doing great!! Keep in touch girl, and best wishes.- Melissa
HI all, I had my surger May 11. I am down 55 lbs and 3 sizes. Woo hoo. I have a lot of nausea, and I struggle with getting in the water, but I still wonderful, better than I can ever recall. I try most things, eat a lot of dark meat chicken and fish. Love shrimp, but getting tired of everything. I am concerned because a lot people say they are not ever hungry anymore, I am, mostly at work, the good news is that it is almost impossible to find anything to snack on at work. I wonder if boredom is kicking and I have to learn new coping techniques!
