I am two months post op and my dr. still has me crushing pills. When I get to 3 months I can take capsules only. What do you all take? I think Biotin and flaxseed only come in gelcaps.

Hi Linda, I take capsules and tablets. I have not had any problems. I take Juiceplus and those are pretty big. I don't foresee a problem taking gelcaps, since they are coated for your tummy. I have not crushed my pills since week 2. The taste was aweful. Hope this helps. Christine -40

I take B Complex in a capsule form, and have no problem. It tastes a little bad, but I just take a few more sips of my drink and it goes down great. Tricia -50 lbs

Centrum makes a chewable multivitamin for adults that I've been taking. For my other supplements (calcium, folic acid, B12, and magnesium oxide) I've been taking capsules since I was 2 wks. post-op. No problems other than some gagging, but a few extra swigs of water usually gets them down.

I just saw the surgeon this past week and was switched from children's chewables to one wonking enormous prenatal vitamin, in addition to my iron (coated), B12 (chalky and yucky but goes down with water), and I started on Caltrate twice a day (boy is THAT a horse pill!!!!). I still take my three small prozac (20 mg X 3) and my teenytiny bcp. I divide this regimen into two "meals" a day. I have to take the iron and B12 at night so I can sleep through the nausea. I was scared when they switched me to the big pills, but so very relieved when they went down without a problem. I was really starting to get puky on those chewables. Only your dr knows YOUR pouch, so be sure to follow his rules. Hugs, Susan

I'm taking chewable vitamins, Prevacid capsules and vit B12 injections. My doc doesn't care how big the pills are. I see lots of people taking iron and calcium, guess I'll have to get off my duff and do something about that soon.
