****Taking a Poll Please******
I will be 10 weeks post-op on Monday, July 26th. I started slowing down about 8 weeks. I then tried to increase my water & liquids. This past week, I also tried to make sure the 3 oz that I can eat are almost all protein. I found a treat at Taco Bell. The side order of "pinto beans and cheese". A friend who had the surgery told me that she started eating more variety of protein and it stopped her lull. I got the pinto beans as a treat, and now I have them at least 3 times a week. My weight has also started coming off again. I did increase my liquids to at least 64 oz a day, and increased my walking from 35 minutes to at least an hour a day. Hang in there. Everybody is different and it is difficult to compare yourelf to everyone else. I have less to loose, so I know I will loose slower than others. Don't be hard on yourself.
Hi Lisa - Congrats to you & your son on your weight loss. My surgery was 5/18 & I lost fast at first too, but at 8-10 weeks, the loss stopped. After I again started adding my protein (Unjury) powder to all my meals, I started losing again. I had increased my exercise to include weight training & yoga & guess I just needed the extra protein to boost my metabolism. The inches have really dropped off even though I had that lull in weight loss. Now I am back to losing and am in the process of clearing out my closets of all my clothes I'll NEVER go back to...you know, the ones you always kept "just in case." I love the "Unjury" products because they come in unflavored and mix well with any food .. no fat refried beans (El Paso Brand) are very good with a little cheese melted on top. I don't trust the TacoBell ones because they use lard and full fat cheese. I also mix Unjury in soups, but they have to be somewhat warm (not hot) or the protein will bind together & not mix in very well. I also mix Unjury in my morning juice - I get Tropicana & Minute Made Low Cal/50% less calories than juice (Mango & Grape are my favorites) I am doing all I can to increase my protein grams and still eat meats. Beef doesn't like me anymore except for lean meanloaf, but I can eat all other types of meats, fish, chicken, pork, turkey, ham, salmon, tuna. Good luck to you & your son! Feel free to write me! Love - Linda (-45lbs)
