I went to a meeting and my doctors nusre informd that I should only be eating 1/4 to 1/3 cups of food, well I have not been measuring and if I had to I woulr out it around 1/2. I am afraid that I have already broken my toy. I thought your pouch would let you know how much you could and couldn't eat. When I saw her measure out that 1/4 cup and 1/3 cup I was like I would still be hunger. Have I set myself up for failure or has anyone else experienced this too

I don't measure my foods either. I eat slow (try to take a 1/2 hour to eat) to make sure I don't get to full. I don't think you have broken your tool.. I think alot of times it depends on what you you are eating,as far as how much your pouch can hold. Like with eating meat you will get fuller. And I've noticed that I can't eat very much in the morning or afternoon,I tend to get full real fast, but for dinner I seem to be able to eat alittle more. I know I heard that as time goes by our pouches will stretch,I don't know when this will happen, maybe over time it slowly stretch's. So,try not to worry. I let my pouch tell me when its full. You just really need to tune into it when you are eating. When you get the first sign of being full, stop. Long term overeating can ruin your tool and stretch your pouch, then you would need to be worried. Hope I've helped. We are all in the same boat on this message board, being only a couple post-op. How much have you lost?? Good luck, keep us updated on your journey. Jeanne

Diamond it is not broken. Your pouch will let you know when you are full. Remember the old adage our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. With us it is literally true . You think that you are eating alot but you are not. Remember you are eating slower so it feels like you are eating alot. Also our minds have not adjusted to the fact that we have a smaller stomach so we put more food than we should on our plates. The good thing about it is that we do not eat it all! Girl your body knows what it needs. Eat what it takes to survive. You know when to stop or trust me your pouch will tell you. It took me about 8wks to have my first frothing session and I will tell you that it is no joke. You are doing good. Listen you are not eating much so don't sweat it. It you want to now start measuring so that you will have that reassurance for yourself. God Bless you on your journey. Nita

Thank you all for the replies.....sometimes, well all the time.....I just don't get that full feeling.....I usually just stop because I don't want to pu**** I know your pouch is supposed to tell you when you are full, but I guess I must be missing that signal. But when I do eat, I put small amounts on my plate and when that is gone, thats it. But last night I went to a dinne and had a salad, the salad had five shimp I ate all of them and about a fourth of the salad. I would have thought that this was too much but like I said I never got that full feeling. This is really gonna worry me for awhile. I don't want to be one of those people who need to have a revision because they have stretched their pouch.
