Hiya Tricia and thanks for your reply. I wanted to tell you on the Slim Fast shakes, look for the low carb ones. They have like 1g of sugar. So do the Carb Options shakes I drink. The regular ones are higher. And i'm not allowed to snack. My surgeon/dietician recommends only 3 meals a day with no snacking. As for calories, i'm supposed to get 600 or less a day. I think you are doing fine. I also am considered a lighter weight. My surg. was about a week before yours and I am down 40 lbs. I think you and I are doing great. Has anyone noticed your weight loss? I work in sales and have my regular customers. Not one of them has asked me if I lost weight. In my head I keep thinking...ok...when are they gonna notice that 40 lbs just came off of my body? All of my coworkers notice, but I am suprised that people that see me appx. once a month don't notice. I can't wait for the day that my weight loss is REALLY noticable!!! Hiya Jenn! Its so funny that you ask that, if anyone has noticed. I have been disappointed a few times that noone notices. I went to my so called best friends' daughters 4th birthday party 2 weekends ago. I hadnt seen her since April and was down 36 lbs and not a word. She didnt notice at all. My first time to my in-laws post op was fathers day and noone noticed there either. We moved to a new home/town a few weeks ago and I left my job when we did. My coworkers there always noticed. If I were to walk in there today they'd make a big fuss over the changes in me. My dh says he sees a difference. But to everyone else they dont see it I guess. My 11 yr old lives with her father due to behavioral issues, and shes with me for the week right now. When she got out of the car and ran over to me, she threw her arms around me and said "momma you've lost so much weight, I can get my arms around you". That meant the world. Kids are honest. I'm sure 80 lbs will be FAR more noticible than 40. I'm counting on it lol. Congratulations on your success. Thank you for taking the time to reply. God bless!

Hey Melanie, I'm there with you. I was losing really slow until I was able to cut out the protein shakes. I'm not getting 60g of protein most days though. I usually get around 45g. I haven't weighed since last Friday because we are vacationing in Orlando, but I had lost 32.5lbs. then. I feel great and I think we're right where we need to be. Hopefully we won't have to worry to much with sagging skin since it's coming off slowly. Christie

Hi Melanie, Don't stress yourself. I was stressing about the same issues. When I went for my nutrition counseling at 4wks to start soft food I asked about that.... How do I count Protein, Fat, Carbs, Calories!!~!!!!!!!????? She told me not to stress so much. The first priority is the Protein, then watch the fat content, and not even worry about the carbs. If we are eating something that is low fat, high protein, chances are there isn't much by way of carbs.... and if there are, remember the carb count is for a full serving.... which, as leat for me, I can never eat a full serving of anything!!! There rule of thumb is Protein first, veggie or fruit and last something carb, by the time I get to the carb I'm full. It seems to be working and takes alot of the stress off. Good Luck!
