Hi guys at night time, often, I don't know if it's because of habit, but i often think about eating. And even if it's not a lot I eat a bit. How can I change this habit? I mean I'm not even really hungry because of the lapband and all, but I don't know. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks. Jessica

Jessica, I don't know how to help but I do know how you feel I catch my self eating a cracker or chip here and there which is so a I think it is because I am having such a problem with meat and now this past week unable to handle milk products so the yogurt I was living on is now gone

You are already halfway there! You've identified the time of day you eat/want to eat and you know you aren't hungry! That's great! I am always willing to suggest things-even if I don't know diddly. So here goes: keep a journal-when you want to eat, make yourself stop, relax, and write at least a few sentences about how you are feeling at that time, what it is you want to eat, and why you think you want to eat it. It might just give you enough pause before trying it. Second, shake up your routine. Whatever you are currently doing at night seems to be triggering your desire to eat, so try doing something else with that time. If it could be emotional eating, try "gettin' some love"-get a hug from a family member or call a friend. Like I said, I might not know diddly, but I am always eager to pretend I do . Hugs, Susan

Jessica, I found myself going through the same thing. Especially if I was sitting at the computer so now I make myself take a walk at night and do other things around the house. Melissa

I find myself wanting to eat at night as well. What has been working for me is reminding myself that I am not really hungry, then getting up and doing something to distract me for a while. I tell myself that if I do something for 30 minutes and then still want something to eat, I can have a snack. So far, I haven't still wanted something after 30 minutes. I hope this helps. Scott
