question
S S, I don't have a hernia but I have a friend that does. I know that a hernia is a bulge or stretch through a new inside incision. If you have a hernia you should be able to feel or see it through your skin. If you lay on your back and cough or pull up it will usually appear. I am thinking you get them from straining too much after a new surgery. I really talked to my doctor about this before I had surgery because I did not want to get one. My friend had a kidney transplant a few years ago and he developed a hernia that sticks out on his side. Looks like a baseball inside. He is having it removed. I think it is an outpatient procedure so he is not worried. I hope I have helped you. ByeBrenda
