I know that I have not been eating enough each day. I am having a hard time. I eat two very small bites and I feel stuffed. Even if I wait a few minutes I still feel stuffed. The protien shakes are not cutting it either. I do better with liquid or cheese than anything else. Anyone else? There are benefits as I have lost 54.5 pounds since surgery but I cant live on SF popcicles and cheese and light Minute Maid juice forever. I feel better than I have in years though. Any helpful tips on getting the "real" food in? TIA! -Gerriann 54.5# gone forever On my way to 275.

My doctor says it takes time. I too cannot get in the calories, or protein that I should be getting in daily, even liquids. I just try my best and I use fitday.com. There I calculate everything daily to see how I am doing. I can only eat 1-2oz at a time, which is usually 2-4 bites, I never get to eat the fruit. Proteins first. Anyway, give it another month or two, you will eventually be able to eat a little more. Tricia -43 lbs

I have had days when eating just wasn't going to happen - I just about felt stuffed when my fork hit the food - yet alone my mouth. My doctors focus on protein first, veggies and finally fruit. Well, if I eat the protein from meats, etc. I can't fit in any thing else. It's getting better as time passes - but somedays are just like I had surgery. Have you tried the water based protein drinks? Isopure and EAS R-T-D are great tasting and easy to get at www.vitaminshoppe.com. They are over 40g of protein in 20 oz which is awesome. They are sold in bottles so taking them with you is easy too. The other product I tried is Whey Fruity. It's a powder and pretty easy to mix. They say you can do it by hand - but I think it works better with a hand blender. It tastes good but not as good as the premixed ones I mentioned above.

I have the same problem. I find soup is a big help. Things like egg drop soup is high in protein, and the warmth is soothing. Also the protein drinks help alot, and I have more energy when I drink them. If you haven't found a protein drink you like yet, try ordering some samples. A sight I like is www.vitalady.com. Terri F.
