Hi everyone. I am for the first time bummed out. I am 7 weeks out and have only lost 30 lbs. I see everybody else down around 45. OK. I am proud of those 30 lbs. But it is fustrating. I am having trouble getting in water. Only about 30 oz aday. Do you think this is it. Happy safe 4th to everyone. Tina

Tina, I was told by my surgeon, that because of my height and not weighting as much as my counter parts, not to expect to loose as fast as they do. Then he saw how much I did loose he was impressed. We all are different and do not do things the same. I have added another day to my water areobics and ordered a DVD of walk away the pounds so I can do it in the house. I do right now 1 hr water areobics 4 days a week. I measure my water in the mug they gave me in the hospital because it has how many oz marked on it. Keep it in the fridge so it is nice and cold. Sometimes if I know I am going out I freeze a bottle of dysani water, then sip sip sip. I have cut out my snacks. But still the protein is the 1st thing I eat. I still think you are doing great at your wt. loss so keep up the great work. Diane Lap RNY -41.5#

I'm just a positive person I guess. I'm 6 weeks out on Tuesday and have lost about 22lbs. I talked with my surgeon's nutritionist and she said that was just great. So..all-in-all I think I'm doing just great. There are days when I think, "Why aren't my scales moving like everyone else?" But, you have to look at the positive side-the slower you lose it the more likely it will stay off, you won't have big plateaus, and you won't have as much sagging skin. Christie 244/222/138

Hiya ! I was stuck for 3 weeks at 30 pounds ( I am also 8 weeks out 5/4/04) and was frustrated BUT I could feel a difference in my clothes ? I added an additional 12 oz of water a day ( have still to get to the 64 oz I am supposed to be having ) and it either jumpstarted my weight loss or my scale got tired of reading the same number day in and day out I have now lost around 35 pounds (5 in the past week) ...so hang in there !! XOXOXOXO Kathy

Hey Tina, We had the same surgery date and I'm down 30 lbs too so don't feel bad. I haven't lost anything in several weeks and it is frustrating but I'm not getting down about it, just hanging in there. I'm not sure if water could be the problem for you or not, but have you been measuring? What they say is true...even when not losing lbs you're still losing inches. In the last few weeks I've been the same weight but lost 2 inches in my stomach, so measure! I know we'll both start losing again soon! Good luck!

I had my surgery a day ahead of you and at my 3 week post op check up I and lost 22 lbs. I have no clue where I am now. I will find out next friday. I look at it this way the slow and steady is better. Give my skin a chance to catch up. I was not a real high BMI so I was told it will go slower than those with high BMIs. Also considering I am a lapband I am pretty darn proud of my loss. I think the water, protein and exercise is the key. I am at 100 oz a day of water and around 80-100 grams of protein. I still struggle with exercise because I have rheumatoid arthritis and my ankle is really messed up right now. Don't dispair. Any loss is a good one. Antoinette 5-10-04 256/235/150

Tina, You are doing GREAT!! I am about that far out (5/7/04) and I only weight about every 2 weeks at the doctors office (I don't have a scale at home). The water is tough to get in, and since I am back at work, I gotta work harder at that than when i was at home!!! Hang in there...focus on the fact that the scale is going DOWN...not UP!!!! Hugs to you in your journey!! Debbie R.
