I was wondering what exercises everyone was doing. I'm wanting to do yoga so bad but can't because I'm in pt for a pulled muscle in my side. So until that goes away I'm limited.

My surgery was May 17. I swim almost daily--about 3/4s of a mile and I do a lot of walking. I was using a stationary bike but that seems to hurt my abdomen too much. I hope to increase the swimming and walking now that the school year is over---I'm a teacher.

I really wish we had a local pool that allowed time for people who just want to swim for exercise. Ours only opens for 5 hours a day and it is cramed full of screaming, splashing kids.

I joined a local Y so that I could swim. Winter hours are fairly good but most of the summer daytime hours belong to the day camp so I find myself getting up at 6 so that I can swim. Is there any private or semi-private pool you could join---health club, Y, university? It makes all the difference in the world to me.

I live in the middle of nowhere... the next closest pool is 30 miles away. The sad thing is I live less than one mile away from the pool that is in my town.

I've been working in my yard... mowing a couple times a week, weeding, etc. I've walked some in my neighborhood, also. I need to do more.

I was walking every day. Anywhere from 1-4 miles. 4 miles was pushing it but that was the plan - to see where my limit was. Anyway, this week both my wife and I joined a gym. So I have switched to treadmills (more walking) and an eliptical machines. I also tried Nautilaus just for arms and legs (I was told the machine helps isolate those muscle groups - so it reduces the risk of a hernia) The weights are REALLY light - but they will increase over the next 6 weeks or so.

I do Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds. It is great. She has a one to three mile tape that you can do. The one mile is only 15min. The two mile takes 30 and the three mile takes 45 min. It is wonderful. It is something that I can do at home and really burn some calories.

Nita, Is there a website listed on the video's cover anywhere? I would like to check out the program. Sounds like you're pretty impressed with it!

I've also started the Walk Away the Pounds and have been pleased - it's nice to do walking in-house since AZ is getting way too hot for outdoor walking. There are a few places you can find them - Best Buy (where I got mine), CollageVideo.com or even WalkAwaythePounds.com (don't forget to put the "www" in front of the websites). Good luck!
