What did you eat today? Is this a good idea?

On the 50's message board, they post what they have eaten that day. It is good to look at to get some ideas but some are several months or years post op and what they eat does not apply to me. What if we started that on this board. We are all at the same stage of post op and it might help. I know different doctors have different ideas but it should be close. What do you think?

I think it's a great idea... I get bored with the same ol same ol... It will give us all ideas of things to eat that we might have never tried on our own.

Linda, I think it would be a big help and may be we would not feel as lost when it comes to food.

So far: 2 scoops of Fuzzy Navel Nectar in water= 200 cal, 50g protein two saltines, 1 oz cheese= 120 cal, 9g protein 48 oz water (counting the Nectar) I'm having a bizarre battle with food. Talk about a journey into unknown territory. For a fat lady to suddenly be revolted by all food is a WEIRD experience. I have what you might call "head appetite"-the idea of some foods is appealing enough, but when it comes time to eat, even those ideas make me want to hurl. Mostly I end up with saltines and something on them, and even THAT makes me queasy. I guess mostly what I have is a FEAR of food right now. I was sick on my vitamins a few times last week and now I'm afraid that this or that will make me puke. Ooops...sorry...went OT for a bit there. Hugs, Susan

I ate 1/2 cup TOTAL protein cereal with 2 Tablespoons wheat germ and 1/4 peach cut up and 1/3 cup skim milk ...YUM !! I don't have my journal with all the calorie totals but I think it was around 18-20 G protein and 200 calories Water - 35oz so far Plus 20 oz Protein Drink 20 G Protein and 80 calories 1/3 of protein bar - 10 G protein and 80 calories (the whole bar only has 5g of sugar !) 1/2 cup of pinto beans with vinegar and onions (laugh ---but I loved this when I was a child and evidently I still do ! LOL) ..?? protein and 30 calories Gonna have: 1 low fat shrimp egg roll with veggies (homemade) 120 calories and 14 G protein and later tonight another 1/3 protein bar - 10 G Protein and 80 calories and more drinks !! My doc said to eat 6 small meals a day but as long as I am getting protein in and drinks in ...and I am NOT hungry should I still do that ? I was on a 3 week plateau until this week when I started splitting my energy bar in thirds and trying to eat at least 2/3 of it a day.. I hate chocolate but can actually eat this one ... and upping my water !! Can't wait to hear more ideas ! Actually , my menu is pretty varied ...the only things I can't eat are chocolate anything and refried beans and leftover seafood Of course, I have not tried any *contraband* items and probably won't for a long time ..if ever ! XOXOXOXO Kath

I was sick last night so I didn't feel like eating much today. I'm actually afraid...lol I had 1/2 cup of cream of mushroom soup for lunch and about 3 ozs chicken for dinner....I drank coffee, diet snapple and crystal light. I may try to have 1/2 a protein bar before I go to bed. I'll try to get more protein in tomorrow
