Salads???
Why can't ya'll have salads? I saw on a post that most of you can't wait to have one. It was one of the first solids I was able to tolerate and was recommended by my doc. I LOVE Subway salads the best. Lot's of protein w/ the egg, meat, bacon, cheese, ect. One salad lasts me 3 meals and I throw out the rest. Just curious as to why your docs say not to have it (unless you are still in the liquid phase!)
My doc said soft cooked veggies for a bit... but at my 4 week check up he told me to try any foods I wanted. I was having trouble holding food down for 3 weeks and was way too afraid to try to eat salad since the raw veggies are harder to digest than the pureed stuff I was having to eat. I'm doing better now and I hope to try adding salads to my diet some time soon.
I really haven't tried many raw fruits or veggies yet. Been sticking mostly to beans, cheese, nuts, chili, and cold cuts- oh, also ricotta w/ splenda (TRY IT) and soups. I'm pretty happy eating this stuff- whatever stays down baby! I think that this weekend I will try a small salad of some kind. Chicken is still killing me! I'm back to being a vegetarian like I was in college! Just remember- salad greens aren't going to give us the protein we need.
What I'm craving most is summer fruits- watermelon, strawberries, bluberries, etc. YUM!
