What is your favorite POST-OP food? I love the strawberry banana Dannon Light'n Fit Smootie. It has only 80 cal., 15g carb., and 5g protein. They go down easily and taste great. Also when I go out to dinner I LOVE Applebee's french onion soup minus the bread. YUMMIE!

The French onion soup sounds good! I love fish now and the lightly breaded fish sticks seems to be gentle on the tummy. When I am out, I like to stop by Chipolte for a burrito bowl. I order it with double the chicken and 1/2 the rice. It lasts for several meals, but, I still end up throwing a portion out. A small Wendy's Chili also works well... jus****ch out for the gas! Up until now I have not ventured much further than rice, but this weekend I went to a mexican restaurant and ate a cheese enchilada and it was wonderful. They are REALLY small, so I actually ate the whole thing. I felt normal. My favorite thing to drink currently is a Crystal Light slurpee. They go down really easy for me.

My doctor has a pretty strict diet the first 6 weeks so my food choices are pretty limited at this point. My favorite is to take an ounce of cheese and melt it in the microwave for 2 minutes until it becomes crispy. Then I spread an ounce of refried beans on it. VERY YUMMY...

I just went on solid foods as I can tolerate them. I ate a brautwast that my hubby fixed and it was wonderful, ate it slow with ketchup. No bread, was told to keep away from breads for a while. Diane Lap RNY -35#

Well..Cheryl took the words right out of my mouth. SHRIMP SHRIMP and more SHRIMP. I am still on a soft diet which does include seafood. We have been vacationing at Pensacola Beach for a week and I ate soo much wonderful shrimp. But, to be exact, my favorite dish would be a mexican favorite called Flaming Cheese w/shrimp. I eat about 4 shrimp with the cheese and a little refried beans. It is heaven. I think the moisture of the beans makes it go down even better. PURE PROTEIN meal. Christie

I stopped at a local produce stand and bought some fresh green beans and new potatoes. I fixed a big pot with some ham chunks. Me and my family enjoyed it so much that I'm fixing another pot today!! YUMMY! ~ * Alice Ann * ~

All these ideas are great. I have yet to try seafood, but will be trying out scallops this week. My 3 favorite post-op foods are (1) Taco Bell's Pintos and Cheese (its like 57 cents! lol), which I used to love to eat pre-surgery and (2) more recently... natural chunky peanut butter on whole grain toast- for some reason I even like my toast a little burnt now. (3) Last but not least is Progresso Black Bean soup (8 grams protein per 1 cup) with 1/4 cup part-skim ricotta mixed in and light cheddar melted on top. It is a BIG meal for me but I have managed to always finsih it! I even had it for breakfast one day!

BBQ flavored Soy Crisps. They are great sort of like a cross between potato chips and rice cakes - but more like the chips. I have heard that Utz makes a soy crisp - but alas - I have not found them in the store. Also, Taco Bell's Pintos and Cheese.
