Six Weeks Post Op and feeling great!!!
I was six weeks post yesterday and I am feeling great. I have lost 30 lbs. I am not sure if that is on track or not but, I do know everyone looses differently. I weigh 252 right now. So, does that sound about right. Anyone else about the same as me? Hey, I can't even imagine weighing under 200 again. I have not had a problem eating anything. I have nibbled on a couple of things I thought might be in question but, I have done fine. I would love to hear from someone in the same boat as me. You guys have a great week. Bye Brenda
I am just over 5 weeks Post Op and I am doing great as well. I have lost just over 30 (33 as of Monday ) and I feel wonderful. I am right there under the 200 mark and I cannot tell you how happy I am to be there. I have lost mostly in my face, shoulders and legs. I am sure my belly has gone down too, but those are the places you can really see it. My clothes are starting to hang off of me.
I am eating in stage 4, but I am not really experimenting too much. I have found a comfort food for me though. My Dad had me make him some Rice A Roni and I had a bite and I was surprised at how well it went down. Better than potatoes. I have been broiling chicken every few nights and eating that for a few meals and having rice with it. That is about as far as I have ventured out with the eating though.
I am also just about 6 weeks post op. I have lost 29 pounds and am at 261. I have eaten a hamburg without roll, chicken, hot dog without roll, summer squash, watermelon, Small amounts and all without incident. Potato still seems to be a bit rough going down. But nothing has even tried to come back up so I feel like I am doing ok. Good luck to you. Su
Hi Brenda, I'm also 6 weeks post & I'm down 35lbs. I had a little trouble keeping things down about 3-4weeks out but now I eat what ever I want without any trouble. I guess everyday gets better. I don't dump either but I don't think that's such a good thing. It could get me into trouble if I let it. Anway I'm glad you posted this I was starting to think I was a slow loser. I'm only 5lbs away from breaking 200lbs so Im obsessed with getting on the scale. & it's not moving as fast as it did in the beginning. It's been about 4 years since I was under 200lbs. Bye for now, Karen
Okay ya'll . . . I'm the heavy weight here at six weeks post-op weighing in at 270. I've lost 30 lbs and think I'm on a plateau. I'm feeling okay just wishing I had more energy . . . going back to work on Monday and have been able to eat anything my pouch could handle. I have not dumped or thrown up so feeling pretty lucky on that.
Congratulations to all and let's keep losing!
Nancy Jo
Nancy Jo, I was feeling very low energy for awhile too. Are you taking a multi-vitamin everyday? We were also advised to take a B12 everyday. My Primary care Dr. recently had blood drawn to test the levels of my meds and vitamins to be certain I am absorbing enough of them to remedy the situation. I also find that the treadmill physically tires me but emotionally invigorates me. I seem to be in a pattern of plateau for a week then I drop 3 or 4 pounds one night. Keep up the good work. Su
I too am six weeks out and have lost 31 pounds. my best friend, says that she feels sorry for that that I went thru all this to only lose 5 pounds a week. I told her I am happy with it because it's a consistent 5 pounds and I also know it will stay off for good. No more of that yo-yo dieting. I am 25 pounds away from getting out of the 200s. It's been 13+ years for me. I can hardly wait.
