Is anyone swallowing pills yet?

I just read in a post about someone taking pills. Is this possible at this point. I would love to be able to take something for gas, but I have been afraid to try yet.

Yes, I am swallowing pills. I never knew we couldn't. I have taken midol, tylenol, soma... also my doctor's nurse told me once that if I had trouble with any gas I could take something. I was referring to tum's and she said "sure"! I know everyone gets different instructions from all the different doctor's, so I hope this helps. Bye Brenda in Tx

I have managed to take my Nexium and a Xanax at bedtime. As soon as the pill touches my tongue I start to gag. I'm not doing to well with solid foods either. Peace

I started swallowing pills three days after my surgery (5/5). I have had no problems at all. In fact, I take 7 pills at night.

GASEX has chewable tablets. Try those. IT seems to help me. I also have been swallowing a small pill of the mornings with no problems. Just as long as the pill is not a big one. If it is get a pill cutter and cut into small pieces adn swallow.

My doctor started me on oral pain pills the day after surgery in the hospital. I personally have a hard time with pills now. I can't seems to get them down without feeling like they are in my throat. Which is odd, because before surgery I could take a handful of pills no problems. Everyone is different..good luck. Kerry

Hi Kathy! I had my surg. 5-20 and was told that I could take pills as long as they were smaller than an M&M. Hope this helps!!!

I started swallowing pills the night after my surgery. Now I daily take prevacid and it goes down fine. I dont know if I would be able to take a really big pill though.

I have been taking pills since in the hospital. They started me on percocet while in there. I haven't had any problems as long as I take one at a time, and small sips of water.-Melissa
