Andrea, I had the same problem. I am putting vitamin E oil and Cocoa Butter on them and it seems to be helping alot. God Bless, Nita

You may be allergic to the them you should let your Dr. know because your blisters could get infected and he may want you to use an antibiotic type ointment. Just give the nurse a call you'll feel better about the situation. Doris

Andrea; I had the same problem from a different surgery. What I was told was that they can put so much tension on the steri-strips that it causes the skin to blister. Mine itched as well so I ended up taking my steri-strips off early. (not a good idea!) I would suggest that you call your surgeon and find out what is recommended. I would avoid putting any lotion on it or vitamin E until you hear from your surgeon. Don't hesitate calling your surgeon or their emergency number even if it is the weekend! Good-luck.

Andrea, My surgery was Monday May 24th. Released to go home on Sunday. They removed my staples and applied the steri strips. On Wednesday I returned to my surgeon and pointed out the small tension blisters.. He advised me to apply tiple antibiotic ointment to them and they should heal fine. I've followed his instructions an they seem to be doing well. The ones that were not busted, I DID NOT OPEN THEM. They will heal too. Best Wishes to you.
