blisters from steri-strips

I've developed 2 blisters from my steri-strips. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do for them? Andrea Open RNY-250/234/???

Andrea -- I have blisters too. I am 4 weeks post-op and I developed 2 blisters. I don't know if this is the same problem you have. My surgeon says it's fluid build up, so he used a hyperdermic needle to lance them, and removed about 1 cc fluid. That was this past Thursday, and most of the swelling is gone from one of the blisters. I am still draining from the other one. You can probably go to any doctor and they'll be able to tell you if that is the problem. My incision is still a little sensitive and itches a lot. A co-worker also had the surgery and recommended finding a good Vitamin E cream to rub gently on your stomach. This is supposed to help with the healing. Good luck to you!
