Never thought I would EVER say this but I am having a very hard time eating and drinking enough. I know I am not getting enough liquid in even though I try my hardest. I am one month postn op. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes---I really don't like the mushy food and it a struggle to get enough/food liquid in. I find that if I have ICE COLD sugar free lemmonade it helps with the fluids. Also, just varying the flavor of pudding or yogurt helps some. Ice pops and plain jello seem to help a liquid with the liquids, but I'm finding difficult. Last night I ate with othes for the first time and that seemed to make it easier to eat soup.

Melissa; I have been having the same battle. Drinking the Adkins shakes has helped me with the protein. In addition, I carry some "OneWhey" bars in my purse. (I picked both up at Sam's Club) Also, I make myself stay up at night until I get my fluids in. It has helped me to have a goal of getting 32 ounces of H2O in by 2:00 PM and the remaining 32 by 10:00. If I am behind, then I stay up until midnight pushing the remaining fluids. I have found that when I get everything in, I lose more weight. Goodluck! Deb (30 pounds in 30 days!)

You guys are counting ALL your liquids, right? Not just the water and Crystal Light? You can count milk, juice, Jello, SF popsicles.

I too am having the same problem. i am definately not getting in enough protein, even with the 1 Adkins shake a day (that's all I can handle). Does that count as a liquid too? I maybe get in 16-26 oz of liquid a day, so I don't think that is enough, and usually my protein is about 20-35 grams a day, and I also think this is low. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow so I am going to ask him about this, and how to handle getting things in. I am having trouble eating or drinking, I feel so sick to my stomach after every time I eat. After I eat, I can't drink without feeling sick for about 2 hours after I eat. Did that make sense? anyway, you are not alone. Tricia

I am having the same problem. There is not enough hours in the day to get all of this in me. I am not doing shakes at all right now, simply because every one I try makes me so sick I don't think I can keep it down. I have not tried Atkins though. Wouldn't it be something if they actually worked for me, $100+ later.

HI MELISSA, I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM 1 MONTH POST AND EVERYTHING GAGS ME. I KNOW I'M NOT GETTING IN ENOUGH LIQUIDS AND PROTEIN BUT I JUST KEEP DOING THE BEST I CAN, EVEN WATER GAGS ME. I GO TO THE BARIATRIC SURGERY CENTER ON THURSDAY, MAYBE THEY CAN HELP. GOOD LUCK. PRAYING YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS FOR YOU. TRUDY
