Hard being an "out of town patient"

Wow I have been home for a while now and i feel so good it seems like my surgery was light years ago not just on the 13th! I have lost 22 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks. I wonder sometimes if that is normal with the band but hey- i am getting everything (excep****er) down and feel really good so that is one thing i won't complain about!! I am originally from Montana, live in Calgary Canada and my doctor is in Seattle Washington. So everytime i have an appointment i spend a lot of money getting there for people to remember my name and that's about it. My first appointment they wanted to do a band adjustment and i was only 4 days out! Talk about not knowing who i was. Does anyone else have a hard time with this? Kristin

Can't you find a local doc to do your band adjustments? I know other people do that. That sounds really tough. Good luck! Tori

It would be nice but since I am an American the Canadian doctors won't do it because of insurance reasons. And even if I did have Canadian health care they won't because it is an out of country doctor. Unfortunately there isn't a doctor in Montana (my home state) that performs lap bands. I am pretty much stuck but maybe I won't need too many adjustments! Thanks for the luck! Kristin
