I'm Home!

I'm out of the hospital and staying at my mom's for a couple days. I am so glad to be home. Although my stay at Baptist Hospital was really great. The staff were wonderful. The only bad thing about this whole experience so far is the HORRIBLE GAS PAIN! I can not tell you how horrible that is when you are used to being so regular and can pop off a round of gas at your leisure. HA! I think after the anesthesia, your muscles are still asleep and won't "release". HA! I was fine until after the swallow test. That crap was think and nasty and it took forever to get through my intestines. I was in so much pain that the doc ordered a couple x-rays just to make sure there was no blockage. Finally after about 7 hours of agony I convinced them to give me a freakin' suppository for a little assistance. Then finally like an atomic bomb, there she blew!!!!! Lord, it was better than any sex I'd ever had. HA! So just be prepared for you pre-ops out there with regular bowel activity. This ain't no joke! More later!

Welcome home surgery sister! Your post made me laugh and I wasnt ready for that lol. I can sooo relate to the gas pains. I learned while chatting in the chat room earlier this morning that i've experienced my first case of dumping. In the hospital they crushed my meds for me (synthroid and effexor). Very few minutes later I was so nausous I couldnt stand it, sweating like a pig and weak. After about 30 minutes the nausea got better and I laid down in the bed. Dozed off for about 30 minutes and felt better once i'd awakened. The nurse said I should have told her and she could have given me something for the nausea. I said well it would have been hard to reach the nurse button from the sink lol. And a BM better than sex??? Man that must have been one hell of a bm. LMAO you're so funny! God bless!! Melanie
