Surgery in the AM - Got a Serious Question!!!
Hello all!
So tomorrow at 7:30 AM I will be having Lap RNY! Strange that I'm mot nervous...Yet!
Anyhoo...I just took the magnesium Citrate at 5 PM and have only had one BM. Anyone know if this is normal? I thought I would need to sit on the throne all night!
You help is greatly appreciated

First of all, good luck to you. Here's my story. I never had to do anything diff. night b4 surg.. Almost seemed too easy. Appx. six days post op I was starting to wonder when I would have a bm.. I thought since I was on clear liq. I wasn't really supposed to have one. That night, I had SEVERE pain in my side. I went to ER. I was diagnosed w/ constipation. So, I had to take everything you need for treatment...and it wasn't pretty. I also used the mag. citrate stuff, and it did not seem to really get me going, but it feels much more loosened up. I know this is gross, but you kind'a asked for it. I wish I would have taken something the night b4 surg. so my chances for getting constipated would've lessened. Did you actually get the whole thing down? I guess if it isn't coming out tonight, maybe morn, or maybe it will make it easier for you to poop after surgery. God Bless
Hi Chandra!
Guess what? I'm having my surgery at 7:30am as well!
I'm not nervous either. I was really jittery and had a melt down a couple weeks ago, but I'm fine now. I'm just ready to get on with it! Get to the other side!
As far as the prep, my surgeon had me take Fleet
Phosphersoda (?spelling) You mix one tbsp with 8 oz of apple juice or gingerale and it will clean out even the most stubborn BM!
I had to take six glasses and that stuff cleaned me out till I was clear.
Best of Luck to You! Please let me know how your doing when you get home.
