Blood Clot Filters

Has anyone had a filter put in. How did you feel after it. I have mine a week before my RYN surgery and I want to know what I can expect... so I can know what last minute things I will be able to do ?? Thanks in advance !

Why are they doing this? I have a blood disorder that I take a daily med for and they just put me on Lovenox for 3.5 days before surgery and until my INR is between 2-3 again. I have had multiple DVT and PE's and they were able to take care of me. Maybe there is a good reason but I would ask if there was other options. The shots of lovenox are not bad. you bruise but that is a small price to pay for getting through the surgery and recovery period. Hi My name is Rosita! My surgery date is May 25th. I had the filter put in. No Pain..they put it in my neck...it was outpatient surgery and I was soon home...So don't worry!!!!!
