New to site... 1 week post op
Hi everyone.
I am new to this site. I had my surgery on May 5th. It is so hard to believe how fast things went for me. I went to my first Dr. appointment to find out about the surgery on March 6th. I had my surgery date in April and the insurance approved the surgery with no problems. On the date of the surgery I felt like a kid going to an amusement park for the first time in her life. I was so excited to start my "new and improved life" . The surgery went great, although I did have a problem with the anestesia, that I am still having. I have coughing fits, that make my stomache hurt, but other that that, no problems at all. I got out of the hospital on Friday feeling great. I am divorced and the mother of two very active boys. They had opening day of baseball on Saturday, so I spent the day at the local baseball field. Things have not stopped since. I am making the best of short time I have off work, by walking. I do have to go back to work tomorrow, so I have to find more time in a day for myself. I wish everyone felt as great as I did post op, and hope I continue to feel this good. Two week post op appointment is on Tuesday, so we shall see. Have a great day. Dawn
Dawn,
Congratulations on your successful surgery. I am happy for you. I will be having my surgery on Monday and am so ready. It took me ten months to get everything done and approved and get my surgery date. But finally on Monday morning I will be headed to UPMC Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh to get this done. I wish you all the best in your weight loss journey. Take care.

Dawn,
I too had my surgery on May 5th and feel great! I was up and moving on Saturday as well but I was going home. Sounds like you had LAP done. I had open but that hasn't stopped me from moving and having the best time I can. Even though I'm still not allowed to drive yet I get my husband to take me places. I get tired easily but it will improve with time. I have been able to tolerate foods well so far although I'm still on full liquid/soft food diet. Nothing crunch, greasy, ect...
Glad to see your doing great.
Blessings,
Alicia
Good luck to you as well. I went into the surgery knowing that I didn't have the time to let it slow me down to much. I really believe that helped me. I went back to work today though, and boy was it a loooooooooong day!! Checked in with the dr. by phone again, just to be sure I was ok. He thinks if I am feeling like I can do it, then by all means, go ahead. The one thing that has really helped me in all this, Is that I have a very supportive family!! Thanks for all the good wishes. Dawn
