what to take to the hospital
I found this list on someone's profile page and thought I'ld share.
1.A roomy bath robe - I didn't think this was necessary as I don't have any with snap sleeves for the IV
2. Slip on slippers (so you don't have to bend over, these are nice to have, the hospital peds leave much to be desired)
3. Small personal type fan (especially if you are hot natured)
4. Loose fitting clothes or a dress to wear home (you can wear it on your way to the hospital as well)
5. Maxipads (some women start their period after surgery, hospital should have these but if you are particular you might want your own)
6. Chapstick (this is especially necessary, my husband used his every time he woke up)
7. Hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, baby wipes (the hospital will probably have this kind of stuff in case you forget)
8. Tongs (to help reach with wipes places you might not be able to reach)
9. Antibacterial hand gel
10. CD player for relaxation and to block out noise (my husband was so out of it the first couple of days that he would have never used this even if we had taken it. I don't know if I will want it or not)
11. Magazines or books (hospital has so many of these that unless you are in the middle of a great book that you will want to read on about day 2 1/2 or 3, I wouldn't bother
12. A pillow from home (this is really helpful, hospital pillows are just not the same as one from home, and using it to support your tummy when you cough is good.)
Do you have any items that you are going to take that are not on this list?? Please share.
