I finally got my surgery date

I have finally got my surgery date. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at St. Vincent's with Dr. Helmut Schreiber. I have lost my 2 year battle with my healthcare insurance provider, United Healthcare, and have gone the self pay route. Any prayers that anyone can spare that day would be greatly appreciated. Surgical complications would definately put a real strain on my finances. A little scared about that.

I'm sorry your insurance didn't pay for your surgery, but I'm happy for you that you are able to get the surgery anyway. My surgery date is the 18th and I'm a bit concerned about complications too. Hi Salvatore, Congrat's on your Surgery Date. I too have United Health Care. I had a hell of a fight to get them to cover me. My Husband wrote to our State Att. General's Office of MN. and ask them for help us with it on UHC and he sent UHC the same letter. This was on a Thur. and they got the registered letters the next day on Friday. On Monday Morning I got a call from UHC saying I was approved . One thing UHC hates more then paying out Medical Bills is for the State to come knocking at there door. Or Newspaper coverage of sad stories of where they have denied a patient surgery. So don't give up. Contact your State Att. General's Office. They have a Dept. that just handles Insurance abuse claims. Best wishes for a great Surgery and fast recovery. Jean

This is REALLY ODD but my surgery is on May 25th at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, Arkansas with Dr. Kerry Ozment. I assume your St. Vincent's is in Ohio. Same date, same hospital, different state - What a coincidence (sp?)! Good luck to both of us! ~ * Alice Ann * ~
