post op pain
Hi Carrie,
You ask some good questions. Only problem here is that the first people to have surgery on this board had it today. And I don't think they will answer just yet. You should ask this on your home state board. You will get lots of replys on that one. Good Luck in your Surgery. Wishing you a fast recovery.

Hi my RNY is scheduled for May 18, but my husband had his on March 9. I can tell you how he did. The day of the surgery he seemed pretty out of it, so it's hard to tell how much pain he was in. The day after surgery he was hurting pretty bad. He said it felt like he got hit with the hardest sucker punch to the stomach that you can imagine. He had pain medication that he could control with a button that would dispense every 10 minutes if he pushed it. When the pain meds wore down he was absolutely miserable until they kicked in again (he slept a lot). He was very thirsty. Not allowed anything to drin****il after the swallow test two days post op. On the third day post-op after he started sipping he started to feel better really fast. Good luck on your surgery. Tere
