My date is May 4th

Only a day before I leave to have surgery. Can't wait. I live 7 hours from where my doctor is and he is telling me that I have to stay for 7 days after I get out of the hospital. Does everyone that has to go that far away have to stay that long?

my doctors rule of thumb is anything over 2 hours away you must stay a week to make sure there is no complications. they dont want you going to another hospital if there is. i am 1 and 45 min away so i dont have to stay. but they have a hospitallity house that they would let us use untill then if needed. you might wanna check to see if you hospital offers that. ours is only $10 a night. hope this helps. lealeigh

Hi Carmen, Good Luck!!! You'll be a loser REALLY soon. My doctor's guidelines are if you are over 3 hours away you must stay for one office visit after he releases you from the hospital. I'm assuming that means at least one extra day then. I fall just short of threes hours from his office so I don't have to stay. Have a safe trip and I hope you have a quick recovery. Christie
