My pre-op was yesterday....

My pre-op was yesterday and everything went very smoothly, they faxed everything off to the Insursance as I left.....whew......My date is May14th....I am so on my way and Very Ready!

Congratulations Linda! Youre almost there! What was the preop experience like? I go for mine on the 11th. All they told me was that i'd have an ekg, I think a chest xray and labs. I also do the psych eval that day. I'll keep you in my prayers! God bless ya! Melanie

Hi, Melanie, my pre-op went really well, I had already had everything else done, all tests were complete. So when i got there at 12:00 noon they weighed me, took my blood pressure. The doctor came in and went over everything again, almost as much as he did at consultation. He looked at my stomach and listened to my heart and lungs. Then his surgical nurse came in and talked to me about the post-op diets...the clears, the pureed, and the soft, gave me handouts for all....along with a list of vitamins and such that i would need to get, most which I have already been taking for months now......she then gave me my perscriptions for meds, I would need to have after at home...for pain and acid....then she sent me upstairs to the Antest. who went over all the procedures for coming in on the morning of surgery and then they took four vials of blood and we left, we were there for 3 hours total....not bad at all.....we had a five hour drive to and from so we left at 5:30 am and got home at 9:30 pm.....a very long stressful day, I was so tired....
