May 17th

My surgery is scheduled for May 17th at UPMC Magee in Pittsburgh PA. I was just wondering if anyone else on here is going to be in the same hospital having their surgery around then. Or even at another hospital or within the same week. Best wishes to all on this journey.

Hi Donna, My surgery is May 18th but in Ithaca, NY. I am hoping to have a room that overlooks Cayuaga lake, if I am lucky. I can not believe that I have a surgery date and if I think about it I get a little nervous. How about you? Teri

Teri, Congratulations on your surgery date and I hope you do get a room with a view of the lake. That should be soothing. I will be thinking of you on your surgery date. I am getting nervous too. It seems like I spent the past ten months on a wild goose chase to have tests done, results sent where they need to go and then trying to get insurance approval. Now it seems like I have extra time to think about the surgery and it does scare me a little. It is still major surgery. But I know I need to do this for my future. Just think, next month you and I will be proud to be losers.

Rose, Nice to meet you. Best wishes for you in Boston. It would be quite nice to keep in touch after surgery. We can start our own little May 17th club. I am going to consider it my second birthday since this surgery is giving me a second chance at life. Well, good luck and take care.
