one week and counting

I have 7 days to go before my date of May 3. I am nervous, scared, and everything in between. When I went for my pre op testing, I had to have a blood gas done because I am on a cpap. Man, that really hurt. My doc didnt put me on any special diet. Is that because I'm not getting it laproscopic? He said that I have too much scar tissue from previous surgeries. I am really afraid I won't be able to do this. Im really not sleeping well at all. Fran

Hi Francine!! I hear where you are coming from... my surgery is scheduled for 05/05/04. I go for pre-admission tests this Wednesday. I wasn't excited to see your post about blood gases being painful. I am on bi-pap, but I guess it's just another hurdle to jump. Yesterday I took the stroll down memory lane. Went by the home of my ex-mother/father in-law and drove by the house my ex-husband and I use to live in. I cried a little but when I pulled into my home it felt GOOD to be home. I said to myself that I looked back and now it's time to move forward. I try to remember everyones encouraging words here. Also the words from Carnie Wilson "to not be afraid to take chances". And this is one chance that I want to take! I want to be thinner!!! I'll say a prayer for you, if you say a prayer for me!

I fully understand what you are going through my surgery is may 5th i am so nervous i am breaking out in hives. i can't sleep at night and i can't think straight. i'm about to ask my dr. to put me on some sort of nerve relaxers(lol). my dr. put me on a 2 week protein diet a shake for breakfast and one for lunch then finally i get to eat dinner i haven't been faithful to the diet either but i'm trying. i am doing my surgery laproscopically so i guess that's why you don't have the special diet. well anyway i wish you a safe and speedy recovery and please keep me informed with your recovery
