Calcium Citrate
Hello everyone,
Anyone take a supplement calcium citrate? I was told that I will need to take 1800-2400mg per day. I looked at the back of the container and it seems like that would be alot of pills. Please share tips, where you buy your pills, generic available, name brand, stores that carry best priced, etc. Any feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Wendy
Hi Wendy,
I was looking up different place to get the meds last night. My friend had the surgery about 15 months ago and her Dr. provided her with a proscription called "Trinsicon" and the only other thing that she has to take is a calcium pill. I also received some info on vitamins at my pre-op meeting. Supplely you can get them online at "www.resource.walgreens.com"
they are called "OPTISOURCE" it's about $25.00 for a months worth and I was told by my doctor that they will give me all the nutrition I will need after surgery, just have to take 4 a day. Also was surfing the web last night came across some pills that Carnie Wilson is endorcing/selling, a little pricey ( about $75.00 for 6 weeks) they can be found at www.spotlighthealth.com. Hope this helps.

11 days and counting......
Hi Wendy,
I'm one day after you . My Doc. say's I'm to take 3 Flintstones Chewable Vitamins a day. One in the AM, one PM and one at bedtime. Also 2,000mg's of Calcuim. Because I have GERD real bad I take Quick Dissolveing Maalox, Maximum Strenght Antacid & Antigas. They are 1,000mg's of Calcium Carbonate. These just melt in your mouth, they are mix fruit flavered and I take about 3 to 4 a day. My Doc. said that was fine to take. He liked the Quick Dissolving in your mouth part. He did say to take it 2 hours after you take a vitamin, because the Iron in Vitamins will cancel the Calcium. They cost about $10.00 for a bottle. of 90. Good Luck on your Surgery.
