three weeks from...

gawd, i'll just be arriving at the hospital three weeks from now, hungry, thirsty and scared to death!! my surgery is at 1 p.m. 5/13/04. i don't have too many bad vibes about it but "you never know." i just hope, for all of us, that things go fine and that recovery is uncomplicated. my main co-morbidity is severe arthritis of the knee that is affecting everything i do, including walking. maybe i'm being too optimistic but i really hope that getting the weight off will postpone knee and hip replacement surgeries for a long time........................ - good luck to us all.................... gail

Hi Gail, Happy 3 weeks to go Day . Mine was yesterday. Had to go see my Surgeons Nurse and a last min. trip to see the Dietitian yesterday. All is good, just may have to have my Esophagus Scoped before Surgery on May 12th. They will let me know tomorrow about that. Next Wednesday I have my Pre-Op Phy. Then I may start to feel like it's really going to happen for me. It's taken so long to get to this point it still don't seem real yet. Are you going to the May 6th. support meeting. I hope to be there. Jean

I'm May 14! All done with Pre-op except waiting for blood results. I cannot believe it! It seems like forever, but I really only started this process 7 months ago. JC Lap RNY May 14, 2004
