peircings

I was wondering if any one out there that has had surgery knows if they will let us use plugs in our peicings so they will not close up ?

dont know. my wife just had her surgery done monday, and the docters told her to take them out.

I have been wondering the same thing. I only have my ear cartilage pierced but I NEVER take the ring out. In fact, I don't know if I can get it out! YIKES. I guess I better find out, uh?!?! ~ * Alice Ann * ~

Hi - I had my Surgery on March 31st. I had to take my piercings out (2 in cartilige, one in my upper lip, one in eyebrow). I was able to get plastic retainers for the holes. You can get these at any piercing shop. My nurse said that since they are plastic, then I could wear them into the surgery room. I had my jewelry at the hospital with me. When I was coherent, I put them back in. The plastic irritated my ears, so I got them out asap. If you need to know anything else, just let me know. Thanks, Teri H -22 lbs!!! Hmm...I have surgical steel earrings in the second hole in my ear. Wonder if they'll let me keep them because they are surgical steel?? I've had the second hole for about 20 years, but if I take the studs out, the holes close up in just a few days....I've already had to get them re-done twice..... Well, small price to pay, no? DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF PIERCING YOU HAVE,BUT I HAVE A TONGUE PIERCING,AND I WAS TOLD AS LONG AS IT'S BEEN IN LONG ENOUGH,THERE WON'T BE ANY PROBLEMS.NOT SURE ABOUT OTHER PIERCINGS THOUGH.

that is one of the peircing that I have the other is a nose The nurse said she didnt even think I would be allowed plugs to keep them open I dont want them to close and my tongue is the worst its the 2nd time I have had that oen done
