May 17th is my date and i am counting the days

Its only a month from today and i am so excited. I have waited approx. 21/2years for this and i can't believe that it is really going to happen. I am getting a little bit nervious now but know that this is the right thing to do. I look at the success stories and know that this surgery was my only choice to a healthier life, and for that reason i am so excited. I wish everyone the very best of luck, if you are just considering, have a date booked or are pre-op. I am having the surgery in Toronto, Canada which is about 5 hours from my home. If anyone has had the surgery and had to travel can you please share some of your experiences with me. Best of luck again to everyone.

Congratulations on your May 17th date! My surgery is scheduled for May 25th. I am traveling to Little Rock, Arkansas for my surgery which is about a 4 hour trip. Like you, I am a little nervous about the trip home. My surgeon said to make sure and stop a couple of times and walk around a bit to prevent blood clots, getting stiff, poor cirrculation, etc. Best wishes to you for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! ~ * Alice Ann * ~

Hi Alice Ann, Congratulations on your date. Thanks so much for the information. I was thinking of taking the train back home, so I could get up and walk around. I would much prefer to drive back home but my sister doesn't really like to drive so I think the train wll be the choice. Good Luck with your surgery and please stay in touch. Linda

My surgery date is also on the 17 and I've been very nervous too but God will be with the both of us Cya on the losing side

my date also is may 17, 2004 but im still waiting on my insurance approval doctors office said i should have by the end of next week say a prayer im from miami florida
