uh oh...
I had my pre admission testing done today and it went well. I went to the Pulmonologist today and it went well. I went to the Cardiologist and he says that it looks like I may have had a heart attack some time between October and today. I have to have a walking stress test on Friday to know for sure and I'm so nervous at what I may find and am REALLY nervous that whatever I may find out might hinder me from getting this surgery. PLUS the fact that I MAY HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK!!!!!!!!
This is too much for today. I'm tired from all of the running around so I'm just gonna pray on it and go to bed. Please pray for me and I'll continue to pray for all of you.
g'nite
Hi Tanya,
I hope you got a good nights sleep. If you are worried about the Walking Stress Test, you can have them give you a shot that will make your heart do the same thing as if you are really walking. I forget the name of it. I had this done last month. Also the test with the radioactive stuff they put in your arm. Nothing hurt from them. My knees are so shot that I wouldn't have lasted one minute on a thread mill. My Prayers tonight are with you. Jean
HI Jean.
My rest was full of tosses and turns. But thanks for asking. I have had a nuclear stress test before. This one is just the walking...i think. But that's not what's bothering me. The fact that I may have had a heart attack and not known it and the fact that I might not be able to have the surgery.
Well, I'll just pray on it...
Have a great day. Talk to you later.
Tanya
Hi Tanya,
I see from your profile that your BMI is only 41. Mine is 40. When I went to my first group meeting to look into having WLS, the Surgeon talked to all of us. We got to ask questions. One was who wont you do Surgery on? He answered, those on Chemo. Anyone else unless they had a Heart Attach in the past month will work. So if your Heart Attach wasn't in the past month, you should be fine, if it was, then maybe your Dr. would move your date till June? Losing the weight would make the heart stronger not weaker. They may change how they knock you out for the surgery. I'm 58 and they are going to do an epidural on me. It will numb me from my neck down to my crotch. And then lightly sedate me. I wont be awake during my surgery. After surgery I wont have the druggy feeling and will be more alert. They are doing this because my blood pressure drops very low if they knock me out very long. I'm also having the Open RNY. I feel your nerves are getting to you. And that is not good. It's hard but try not to think about it.
