May 19th!!!
I can't wait. I may be scared about the surgery, but I know the time is right and just how lucky I am to be offered this opoportunity. I am also nervous about eating the right stuff post-surgery - getting enough protein, etc. bu perhaps I will wait to worry about that until I am closer to the surgery date. LOL! I AM READY!http://www.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/smile.gif
Hi Nancy,
Your feelings are the same that every one of us are feeling on this board. You listing to the Doctor and Nurse before surgery and it gets a little scary because you are learning so much about this surgery. I think they try to discourage us. But when it all starts to come together and you get a date, you start listing to the Post-Ops and you know then you can do this. We are all a little scared, be you are not alone. We are all going to be AWESOME .

Dear Jean, You are so right - I find myself pouring over the before
and after photos, wondering what it would be like to be that
thin. If I chance upon the after photo first, once or twice my
head-talk wonders what that skinny person was doing on this
site - and then to see the before photos - women and men just
like me in so many ways. Oh, Jean, I can't wait!
Scared and not alone - that's a very good place to be.
Thanks so much for the email!
Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I just found out yesterday that my surgery will be on May 4 and I can totally relate to you on the scared issue. I am from Wisconsin as well, I live near Madison and will be having surgery in Madison. Have you started to "shop" for the body you might have? Whenever my husband and I go anywhere we are always checking people out wondering what I will look like when I get to my ideal weight. I have been big all of my life so it is hard to imagine what I will look like as a MINI-ME. This is so exciting and to have so many people from all over to support us----what more could we ask for. Best of luck with your surgery!
Cindy
Congratulations, Gina! How cool that we both will have our re-birthday on the same day! I know there will be some hard times - but we have already done the hardest part, just by planning and arranging and scheduling! Good luck to you - it would be fun to keep in touch in the post-surgery times to compare notes and keep laughing! Take care!
