New to Board

Hey there. I've been following this board (lurking) for a little while. I was hoping that my doctor would give me a May date. Well I had my consult with him today and May 4th it is. Wow!! I'm so excited. I'm a school teacher in Maryland so I'll have to start soon on finding a substitute for the time I am going to be out. Hope to talk to you all soon. Mike

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Good luck to the both of you. I'm sure the kids at my school will be surprised when school starts back in September. I have will have 4 months of weight loss under my belt so i'm hoping for a big change by then.

Congratulations on your date, Mike! I'm a teacher, too. I scheduled my surgery for May 25th - our school is out May 19th. Good luck finding a substitute. We have a shortage of them here in Oklahoma. May 4th will be here before you know it!!! ~ * Alice Ann * ~

Hi Mike- I too am a teacher and scheduled for May.. Mine is May 19th- the Dr said I will probably be out the rest of the school year ( we end June 2 ) He said there may be a chance I could go back for the last week-- but we have to wait and see. After we return from spring break ( April 19 ) I will send a letter out to my class. If i wasnt a camp director also I would have waited until summer vacation-- but decided the class would survive and I have already lined up a sub ( now its writing all those lesson plans -- yuck ! ) Best of luck with your surgery-
