I dont knwo what to think
I took my weight yesturday and I was 147 and today I was 151. I am surprised on how the weight can fluctuate (sp?) so dramatically at this stage but it has. I am happy at around 145 and was not so upset with the 147 weight. But when I did the 151 this morning I was upset. I am scared that I did this all for nothing. I dont want to gain the weight back after so much hard work.
I can feel the weight coming back. My PS surgeon made my tummy so tight that with every pound, I can feel my tummy tight tight tight. Its sort of sore and I am trying to be viligent to the wieght gain.
My blood pressure is still high and I have to take meds for that. And I had issues the last month with my health. My iron is very low and I was dehydrated. Being dehydrated even made me temporarily loose my eyesight and balance. This happened at work and was very scary. I am trying to be viligent to drinking water and staying hydrated. This is a serious condition. So anyone reading this plz!!!! DRINK YOUR WATER. It makes all the difference.
I am not so dizzy but I am still shaking a bit and nausious. Trying to get it under control. This is crazy I suppose I did not calculate this in my decision for this surgery. I am happy I had it but I wish I was more serious in my research. I thought I was doing well but now I dont know.
I cant believe that I have to go on a diet with this surgery so this is always a fight. I have to get my weight under control. I am trying very hard trust me. I have my membership at LA Fitness and trying to use it as much at possible but work does not permit it. That is no excuse and I have to make it work. Wish me luck plz....

It's impossible for you to gain 4 pounds of fat in one day. Each pound is like 3500 calories. So you would have had to eaten 14,000 extra calories! I don't think so. It has to be fluid retention. Sometimes if you are dehydrated, you can actually gain wt. Your body decides to hang on to every drop. Are you watching your salt intake? With the high blood pressure, you should be limiting your sodium to under 2000 mg a day. Why are you shaking? Do you have blood sugar problems? Maybe you are hypoglycemic. It's pretty common around this stage of our journey. Why is your iron low? Are you taking supplements? Are you talking with your WLS surgeon? If not, you should be. PCPs just aren't up on all the problems we can have.
I'm not a doctor or a nurse. But I was in the medical profession for 20 years (lab tech). These are just some suggestions of things to consider.
Do you track your calorie intake? If not, you might want to use fitday.com. It's free and can be a real eye opener as to number of calories actually consumed.
Good luck! You might want to start posting on the WLS Grads board. Lots more activity there.
WoW Thanks Lyn,
This is good info. Well I take my suppliments but I was a slacker. Not anymore. I also added noni joice back to the program. I was tested for blood sugar and it was good but was not shaking or having issues then. But there are times that If I drink coffe in the morning from QT (its sweet) I feel shaky. But by the time I go to the docs I am good. Perhaps I need to tell her I need a glycemic(sp?) test for sugar levels.
Okay alot of good answers you gave thanks. And I will check out the Grad board as a matter of fact I will go and check it out now.
Thanks Agian

From one Nat to another .. I too gained about 4 pounds last week ... same diet I have always been on .. no real cause for me to question my calories .. but I do still input them into fit day.. and I still can not get over 1000 a day .. I too have been hit with low blood sugar . If you go to the grads board .. there is post about it .. seems that there are a lot of grads out there experiencing this .
As to my weight gain .. I finally figured that it had to be my new Hormone patch .. and I was retaining water . I switched meds and the weight came off ..
I still keep to the same formula .. Protein +Water + Exercise .. and so far so good .
Keep us posted O K..
Take care,
Natalie
